A few notes and reminders to make the day a success... 

Be prepared for a fun day outside.  Consider bringing a tent, chairs, blankets, cooler, snacks, fans, sunscreen, etc.  We recommend a wagon to tote it!  Don’t have a tent?  Don’t worry.. We will have some community space available. 

We tentatively have a marching band slated to kick us off.  If you have an attendee with auditory sensitivity, consider bringing ear protection. 

No pets allowed. 

Everyone enters through the fence line on the left.  Top team captains with VIP access ($5,000 or more), will stay near the fence line for expedited entry. 

All other registrants enter through the fence line on the left and then find your lane based on last name. 

Doors open at 1 pm!  The only exception is for VIP teams (raised $5,000 or more) 

VIP teams will have VIP parking just past the entrance.   

T-shirts are available for pickup by the Team Captain at the event.

Only self advocates are able to sell items at the event. 

Food trucks will be on site, so bring cash or card if interested in purchasing lunch. 

There is an optional team captain packet pickup October 17th 1-3 pm at the NCDSA office, 2621 Spring Forest Road, Suite 102, Raleigh NC.  If you don’t pickup on the 17th, your items will be waiting for you at Buddy Walk! 

Once you arrive: 

  • Find your proper registration lane and check in. 
  • Team captains should go to the t-shirt/packet pickup lane while the rest of their team begins their tent area setup. 
  • Visit our vendors, sponsors and T-21 vendors! 
  • At 2:30, we will do a ceremonial ribbon cutting for NCDSA's newest partnership to help launch the UNC Down Syndrome Clinic.
  • Team captains- join us near the start line at 2:45 pm for a group photo
  • Walk begins at 3:21. Afterwards, proceed to the photo booths for a group photo and to receive your self advocate's medal!
