Instead of our traditional walk this year, how about a park-wide scavenger hunt?
We might not be able to host a large gathering, but no one can cancel fun, right? Let’s enjoy seeing each other while raising awareness for the local Down syndrome community. There will be a “base camp” set up at the gazebo in the basin of Tawawa Park in Sidney. You and friends & family can walk up or drive by to pick up a map and the list of landmarks to find throughout the park. You will be able to visit almost all locations from the comfort of your vehicle but are certainly welcome to stroll through the course. All returned landmark lists (and selfies/photos presented) will be entered into a drawing for prizes. Come out, enjoy the beautiful scenery, and embark on this leisurely adventure. The “base camp” will be set up to distribute and collect packets from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, May 15th.
Tawawa Park boasts two lakes, 220 wooded acres with open areas, several playgrounds (including an accessible playground next to the gazebo), a covered bridge, soccer fields, walking paths, and shelter houses for you to enjoy. This park is pet friendly - so bring your whole crew - each carload will count as a “team”.
To purchase tickets, select the "BUY TICKETS" button above. The cost is $21 per car load.
