Theodore's Explorers
Welcome to our Step Up for Down Syndrome team fundraising page! We are walking to show our support for our child and more than 400,000 other individuals with Down syndrome in the U.S. Every dollar we raise brings us one step closer to ensuring that our child and every individual will have the opportunity to reach their potential.
Theodore has had quite the year so far and made some big decisions for himself. He has decided that he prefers to have oxygen support while he is sleeping. (along with getting tangled in cords) He also decided that he prefers to eat the majority of his meals through a tube straight to his stomach, and received a second belly button.
We also went on Theodore's first vacation, camping (in a cabin, so not really) at Jellystone where he got to meet Yogi, Boo-Boo, and Cindy. It took him about half a day to warm up to the idea of not being at home where he prefers to be, but he warmed up to it and enjoyed himself. He even got to go swimming for a little while in his fancy mesh chair while it wasn't raining. He enjoyed splashing around in the water.
Our fundraising efforts will support local programs and services, as well as advocacy and public awareness initiatives that benefit all individuals with Down syndrome.
