Walk Day Information

Join us for music, food, exhibitors and an awareness walk to celebrate individuals with Down syndrome! Learn about resources from local organizations and agencies at our exhibitor tables, enjoy activities like giant Jenga and cornhole, plus visit our face painter, tattoo station, and balloon twister. 
 

What to bring or leave at home:

BRING:
Shade and Lawn Chairs: We invite you to bring small canopy tents, picnic blankets and chairs for your group if you wish. Please make sure all tents are secured with weights or ties. Staff and Fire Department representatives will be checking to ensure tents are secured. Those that are not will be asked to take down tents for the safety of participants.
Snacks and drinks: Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided to participants. Feel free to bring your choice of food to enjoy! Please remember to clean up after your group!
Signs, team shirts and spirit!: Let's make this a day to remember for our loved ones with Down syndrome.

LEAVE:
Pets: Dogs (and other animals) are not allowed at the UNM Fields.
Weapons: Please leave any weapons at home. Bags and purses are subject to search at entry.
Glass Bottles or Containers: Please make sure any outside food and drinks are in plastic holders.
No Grills or Open Flame: Food vendors will be on site. 

Getting To The Event and Parking
 From I-25, exit East on Avenida Cesar Chavez. Turn right on Bradbury (takes you west of The Pit). Follow to the parking lot to the Buddy Walk Event.

Going south on University cross Avenida Cesar Chavez and turn right south of Pit on Kathryn
Avenue.

No Left Turns in the Stadium Area.
