Walk Day Information

Date: Sunday, November 4, 2018

Time: 1:00-4:00 pm

Location: World's Fair Park

World's Fair Park Drive will be closed to thru traffic. Parking maps are available by clicking here http://www.ds-stride.org/resources/organization/88/event/88/Map_Downtown_Parking.pdf 

Only DSAG tents are allowed on the Festival Lawn. Individuals are NOT allowed to have tents or canopies at World's Fair Park. Feel free to bring chairs, blankets, wagons, strollers, etc. to help enjoy your time at the park.

Registration is from 1-2 pm. This is where you will turn in any cash or check donations and pick up your t-shirts you have registered for. If you registered online and raised money online and do not have any donations to turn in that day, you must still go thru registration to get your shirts. There will be a current printout of everyone's online totals as of midnight November 2, 2018 to determine DSAG dollar amounts. You can continue to collect funds and take online donations until November 15, 2018. This date will be the cutoff for top fundraising totals.

DSAG Dollars- This is the fundraising incentive program in place this year. DSAG Dollars can be redeemed for merchandise at Marketplace. DSAG Dollars are awarded as listed: $25 for the first $100 then $5 at $250 and an additional $5 for each $250 raised by November 2, 2018 at midnight (example: $500 raised would earn $35 in DSAG Dollars). You will also receive a route sign at no charge ($100 value) by raising $500 by October 4, 2018. The top 3 fundraisers for Buddy Walk 2018 will be announced in the December DSAG newsletter and presented on stage at Buddy Walk 2019. Also, first place will receive a $100 retail gift card, second place will receive a $50 retail gift card and third place will receive a $25 retail gift card. The winners will also be featured in the 2019 BW materials. Remember, you have until November 15, 2018 to continue fundraising.

Opening ceremony with begin at 1:45, walk will begin after. Immediately following the walk, the medal ceremony will take place on stage. Each of our friends with Ds need to line up to the side of the stage for the ceremony. They will receive a medal and a goody bag and get their moment on stage to be recognized. Be sure to have the individual's name written on a provided index card while in line for the ceremony.

Plan on having lunch at Buddy Walk! Food Trucks attending this year will be Big O's BBQ, Chicken Coop, Gypsy Kitchen and Rocky Top Snoballs.

Marketplace has some awesome new DSAG items this year! Buddy Walk t-shirts that have not been given out at registration will be on sale at after 2 pm.

If you are new to the DSAG family over the last year - thru birth of a baby, expecting a baby, adoption or moving to East Tennessee - be sure and stop by the New Family Tent. There will be DSAG families there to greet you and give you a new family goody bag. The New Family tent will be located along the side of the festival lawn opposite World's Fair Park Drive.

Credit/debit cards are accepted at registration, and market place and food trucks.

Checks will only be accepted at Registration.

Any money turned in at Buddy Walk will be assumed to be a Buddy Walk donation. To be certain you will receive credit for paying your membership dues please do not turn dues in with your registration funds. You will see a few people running around wearing Buddy Walk Committee shirts; this is the Buddy Walk committee. They have done a phenomenal job and worked very, very hard for many months to make Buddy Walk possible. Be sure and let them know you appreciate all their time and effort!
