WOW 50th Anniversary of the Houston Buddy Walk
Ready to get caught up on everything Jensen. Well, here we go.
As you know Jensen started school last year and oh my goodness he loved it. Over the weekend he would grab his back and ask to go to school in sign language. He was like a sponge soaking up everything. He learned to spell and trace his name. Can say his ABC's as well as sign them. He has learned how to sort things, counting, learned a lot of his colors, and so many other things. But the most wonderful thing was the friendships he made. He loves his friends and would ask for them by name. The teachers he had for his first year of school were simply the best and we will miss them.
His PT that he takes outside of school has released him. She said he is progressing very well and we will recheck him in 6 months to make sure he is still doing well. He still is doing OT and he proved its working because he opened his water bottle in the car and not the correct way. We are hoping to start outside speech soon.
Everything is still about sports, he loves them all. I think its time to sign him up for something, just which one is the question? He has been growing like a weed. Eats everything but still loves his mac and cheese. Not sure if its new or not but he is a helper. Whether it is helping with the laundry, dishes, cleaning off the table or just tidying up he is right there with me.
So I guess its time to talk about why I am reaching out to you. Just like any other charity without donations the DSAH couldn't do what they do. Since the moment we found out Jensen had down syndrome they have been right there by our side with welcoming arms helping with whatever we need even its just a shoulder.
