Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer! Event day volunteers are the key to any successful event and the Buddy Walk is no different. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age. We have a variety of shifts available for the day prior to, and the day of the Fun Run and Buddy Walk.
Volunteer Shifts Available:
Set Up Volunteer (Friday, Oct. 25, @ noon): Meet at Fishhawk Storage, UNIT 8131, BLD C - 16617 Fishhawk Blvd, Lithia, FL 33547.
Fun Run Volunteer (Saturday, Oct. 26, at the event: 6:00 AM - 12 PM): Meet at Raymond James Stadium - 4201 N Dale Mabry Hwy, Parking lots #1, #2, and #3.
Buddy Walk Volunteer (Saturday, Oct. 26, at the event: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM): Meet at Raymond James Stadium - 4201 N Dale Mabry Hwy, Parking lots #1, #2, and #3. Note: Know that when you sign up for the Buddy Walk we are requesting that you stay and help load the truck at the end of the event.
Break Down Volunteer (Saturday, Oct. 26, @4): Meet at Riverview Storage
Volunteers during the Fun Run and Buddy Walk will be assigned one of the following areas:
Registration, Buddy Butler, T-shirts, Inflatables, Raffle/Silent Auction, Water Stations, Signs, Decorations, Merchandise, Raffles, 50/50, and Train.
How To Register as a Volunteer
Step 1: Register for the event and select your shift and free t-shirt
Please Register to Become a Volunteer through this link and choose the free registration type “Volunteer”. Choose the Volunteer shift you would like to help with and your t-shirt size during registration. You will receive a free t-shirt and wristband for being a volunteer.
You will be contacted by our Volunteer Coordinator, Sylvia Bosma soon and she will assign you an area for the events.
Step 2: Register on Disney’s Points of Light Website
Please record your volunteer shift on the Point of Light Website so FDSWF receives points for every volunteer that registers to help at the Fun Run/Buddy Walk. Thank you!
