Event Day FAQ's

PARTICIPATION:

Do I have to be able to run to participate in this event?

No, this event is geared toward walkers and runners alike. It’s a great course to walk or run!  If you can’t run or walk the entire course, the RVA Trolley will be bringing up the rear.  You can ride the entire route or just step to the side of the course and flag down the trolley as it nears your location for a free ride back to the finish line!

Can I bring my child’s wagon or a baby jogger on the course?

Yes, however, the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Richmond is not liable for any incidents incurred with a wagon or stroller.  ALL individuals out on the course must complete a registration form online or on paper.  This is a family event where we try to anticipate the needs of all ages, but our first priority is everyone’s safety.

Are motorized vehicles like golf carts or skateboards allowed on the course?

No, for the safety of all involved, personal motorized vehicles and skateboards are not allowed on the course.

Are dogs allowed at the event and on the 3.21K course?

Yes, well-mannered dogs with responsible owners are welcome.  Owners will be responsible for keeping their dog under control at all times and must provide their own clean-up if needed.

If we have to go to our rain plan set-up, dogs will not be allowed inside the ballroom.

Do I have to sign a waiver to participate?

Yes, a waiver is required of every participant in the 3.21K… children too. This is required when you register.

REGISTRATION:

Once I am registered, when and where do I pick up my packet?

Packet pick-up will be held on Friday, October 4, Noon – 6 pm at the Acca Shrine Center Outdoor Pavilion, 1712 Bellevue Ave., Richmond, VA 23227. Enter the parking lot off of Hermitage Road and follow the parking lot around to your left. The Pavilion will be straight ahead on your left.  If you are picking up packets for team members, bring a list of their names. Please advise team members if you are picking up for them to avoid them making an unnecessary trip.  We will also be taking 3.21K registrations at this time as well.

Can I register on-site the morning of the 3.21K?

Yes!  Registration will start at 7:30 AM and will close at approximately 8:45 AM for the 3.21K run/walk.
