Walk Day Information

The 15th Annual Buddy Walk will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Millican Reserve.  This event will be held rain or shine!

Activities will include a separate 5K with a Little Extra which begins at 8 am. Then, Buddy Walk festivities begin at 10 am with all kinds of games and entertainment including: bounce houses, t-ball station, lawn games, Wertz Werks, hayrides, train rides, karaoke, cake walk, and more. This is absolutely, fun for the whole family.

  • Things to Remember:

    • Closed toe shoes - We’ve treated for ants 3 times and we will treat one more time before Sunday, but we are outside and...it’s Texas.

    • Sunscreen - Cloudy weather causes sunburns too.

    • Bug spray…..we are outside and….it’s Texas.

    • Bring your own tent/canopy and lawn chairs to claim your spot! Limited seating is provided.

    • Hydrate! Hydrate! Hydrate! Coca Cola is donating beverages, but you can always bring more.

    • Opening Ceremony starts at 11 am so you’ll want to claim your spot before then.

    • Food and entertainment opens at 10 am.

    • All shirts not picked up by 1pm Sunday will be release to late registrations

Individuals with Down syndrome are free and everyone else is just $15.00 for a day of fun, plus a t-shirt (if registered by deadline). Buddy Walk is an event where anyone can come set up a tent or canopy, bring lawn chairs or blankets and if you don't want to purchase food from a food truck, you can bring your own picnic.

Your support of Buddy Walk enables a variety of educational and social programs throughout the year to benefit people with Down syndrome, from birth through adulthood. This year, our funds will go to support our education and outreach programs. 

We can't do what we do without all of you who attend, our volunteers and our sponsors. You are making a difference to people in all of Brazos Valley!
