Team Years: 3
Welcome to our 2019 DSA of DE Buddy Walk® team fundraising page! We are walking to show our support for our child and more than 400,000 other individuals with Down syndrome in the U.S. Every dollar we raise brings us one step closer to ensuring that our child and every individual will have the opportunity to reach their potential.
Addison is now three years old and just started Preschool! She loves everything about it so far, and the progress we have seen in the few short months she's been attending is incredible. This event is an amazing day for our family & friends. We hope to see you there!
Our fundraising efforts will support local programs and services, as well as advocacy and public awareness initiatives that benefit all individuals with Down syndrome in our community.
Make your tax-deductible donation today and take the first step toward helping us achieve our goal. Thank you for your support!

I have to brag for a moment. Addison’s teacher, I don’t even have words to describe how amazing she is. Our first WDSD with Addy at school and Ms.Hammond went above and beyond to make it amazing. She even brought her cat in, dressed up, for Addy’s special day. I swear she loves Addy almost as much as we do. And for that I feel so incredibly blessed. #specialeducation #downsyndrome #abaclassroom #newjersey
Happy World Down Syndrome Day!! Although we celebrate everyday, today is a day we go a little extra! #wdsd #theluckyfew #t21 #downsyndrome
Yesterday was hard being a special needs parent. It was one of those moments where you realize, we aren’t more alike; we are different. Going to Addy’s school for Dr.Suess night, I was anxious to see how she was with her peers. She’s the only child in her school with Down syndrome, and in situations like these it’s a lonely feeling. She was the only child who didn’t understand the activities, the only child who wasn’t picked as a partner, the only child not able to sit and follow directions. I was sad for her. But as I thought back on it, I realized a few things. She was the only child who clapped for not only all of her peers as they took turns, but also for herself. She was the only child who gave all of the parents hugs and high fives. She was one of the only children not to get upset when she didn’t win. Addy is amazing. She’s an amazing friend. Has an amazing spirit. And has an amazing ability to make people smile and happy. She didn’t care even for a second that she was different. I’m still working on embracing that, but she’s the greatest teacher. #downsyndrome #specialneeds #different
Sisters. 💕 I’m loving how Addison is slowly loving her sister more and more. Watching their bond grow is SO amazing. #sister #forever #downsyndrome #morealikethandifferent
I love that she’s learning so much at school!! & I love how she yells at her sister like “stop screaming! I’m trying to concentrate!” #downsyndrome #theluckyfew #specialneeds #writing
I really thought my kids would look just like me, but hey, they turned out much better. #girlpower #daughters #nothingdownaboutit #sister #minidaddy
Crazy hair:✔️ Crazy socks:✔️ Crazy Addison:✔️ ...And she’s off to school! (We did the best crazy we could considering we remembered last minute!) #momlife #readacrossamerica #preschool
DOING ADDY THINGS, as always! As hard as snow days are, this girl keeps me on my toes guessing what crazy stunts she’ll do next. And I wouldn’t want it any other way! #theluckyfew #nothingdownaboutit #momlife #capture #lifegivingsquares
Picture One: me in the back doing anything possible to make them both laugh and smile ••• Picture Two: Char is acting like a little girl instead of a baby, per usual. ••• Picture Three: Addy - “how much longer do I have to smile mom!!” #downsyndrome #321foundation #mywholeworld #mywholeheart #capturethemoment #girlmom
Addy had THE best time at her friends birthday party! I was anxious to see how she interacted with her school friends but she was just SO excited and happy. School has helped her grow SO much and I’m so proud of her. Plus, these parties are like therapy for parents. I instantly felt connected to so many of them just because of our kiddos. #lifeisbetterwithyou #theluckyfew #rockthespectrum #downrightawesome #downsyndrome #nothingdownaboutit #alilsomethingextra #three #girlmom
So thankful for these two, and this beautiful weather!! They both caught a nasty stomach bug last week and are finally (almost) all better! Getting outside was just what we ALL needed. #theluckyfew #downsyndrome #sisters #momlife #morealikethandifferent #babygirl
If only she was this sweet to her own baby sister. 😂 Gosh, I love her. #lifeisbetterwithyou #theluckyfew #downsyndrome #nothingdownaboutit
Being a preschool teacher was amazing. I loved my job and I loved the kids I had the pleasure of teaching. When I took a hiatus from teaching to raise my daughters I still thought about the ways I could help bring inclusion to classrooms. I thought about the ways those with disabilities, including my daughter Addison, who has Down syndrome, could feel included and represented the way other children were. I met Lindsay 3 years ago and since then we have become as close as we virtually can. She's one of my best friends and when she came to me with an idea that she had I was thrilled to say the least. It was an amazing project and I was excited to help and be a part of it. So for a little over 6 months that's what we've been doing, working on this amazing project that we are hoping to share with everyone else on World Down Syndrome Day 2019: In honor of WDSD19, Lindsay and I are releasing a new book, geared towards younger kids, that not only includes our own daughters, but 49 OTHER KIDS FROM AROUND THE COUNTRY, each representing the state they call home!! We are SO freaking excited about this book and we can't wait for everyone to be able to get their own copy!!! It would not have been possible without all of the other families who agreed to do this with us and we honestly can't thank them enough! (We will let them tell you who they are!!) Addison and Charlotte, thank you for motivating and inspiring us EVERY single day!!
I wouldn’t trade these days for anything in the world. She’s growing up so fast!! #momlife #capturethemoment #daughter #holdthemoments #lifegivingsquares #flashesofdelight #babymodel
I’ll take a fake smile over no smile. One of my favorite times of the day is right before we go to the bus stop. It’s 5 minutes of “Addy & Mommy” time. She is growing up right before my eyes, and I’m loving every sassy second of it. #theluckyfew #downsyndrome #lifeisbetterwithyou #momlife #daughter #holdthemoments #lifegivingsquares #flashesofdelight #toddler
A little tbt because what is cuter than Addy as a baby 🥰 #downsyndrome #theluckyfew #momlife #daughter #holdthemoments #lifegivingsquares #flashesofdelight
