Team Years: 4
Welcome to our 2019 MVDSA Dayton Buddy Walk® team fundraising page!
We’re really excited for this year’s Buddy Walk®! But, we could really use your help and support! We are walking to show support for our favorite buddies and more than 250,000 individuals with Down syndrome in the United States. Every dollar raised brings us one step closer to ensuring that every individual will have the opportunity to reach his or her potential.
By joining and/or donating to our team, you will be helping not only my friends with Down syndrome here in the Miami Valley receive valuable programs and services all year long, but you will also be supporting the advocacy and awareness initiatives of the National Down Syndrome Society.
Make your tax-deductible donation today and take the first step toward helping us achieve our goal.
Thank you for your support!
P.S. The Miami Valley Down Syndrome Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and donations are tax-deductible within IRS guidelines.
Our Funds Raised: $1,550.00My goal: $2,000.00 77%
I am inspired by the strength of this Momma and the spunk of little Miss Lynnyx! I will be out of town or I would be walking beside you guys! You are constantly educating those that around you and making the world a better place for all!
She row, row, rows her boat gently down the stream! Day 6 post op T&A removal; pain relief is on the horizon! Acting a little more like herself today. Needs to eat more, though. #lynnyxsladybugs
Prayers for our sweet girl as she gets tonsils and adenoids removed tomorrow morning at Cincinnati Children’s. She’s also getting a new set of ear tubes! Excited for how this may help alleviate her severe sleep apnea without the need for a CPAP. Updates will be posted on her group page. 💕💕💕 Thank you all! #lynnyxsladybugs
Four months old today! But how much does Declan weigh? 🤔 He doesn’t skip a meal, that’s for sure! Big boy! Must take after the cat.
This kid is wearing 6-9 month sleepers. Somehow he grew overnight and I’m so sad! Time slow down. 😢 Also, Lynnyx is NOT impressed. 🤣
I think the kids enjoyed seeing me carrying around Lynnyx last weekend on my back at Kings Island because this just happened. Ezra loves his baby elephants and blue hippo!🤣🥰
I legit had to sit Ezra down tonight and talk to him about not running in the house...because he was running in the house! Full arm cast and all. This little guy sure looks like his brother but he better not be as rambunctious!
Our brave sweet Ezra unfortunately finally understood why we are constantly telling him “no running in the house!” Although I’m not convinced this will stop him. So grateful for our Preble County ER. They got him in right away and we were fortunate enough to have a very capable doctor on hand to set his arm without having to go to Children’s tonight. We will follow up in the morning with ortho for possible surgery and final cast.
New glasses...who dis? No worries, she still has her purple ones and has another color coming...guess which color! #lynnyxsladybugs
Attempted to recreate the marinade from Winners Pork Chops on these cut chicken breasts 🤤 grilling now...we shall see!
Sometimes when Lynnyx doesn’t get a nap, she’ll fall asleep during dinner. I sensed an...opportunity. 😍💅🏼 Complete mani/pedi 🥰 #wherelynnyxfallsasleep
Declan Xavier, a.k.a. Mr. Personality, a.k.a. Ezra’s mini-me, is three months old today! I had lots of difficulty picking his milestone pic so here’s my top six. 🤣😍🥰❤️
Tales from a Rockin’ Mom In an attempt to educate and advocate, I want to share my experience with you today when I was asked about Lynnyx. Person: “How old is she, about 3?” Me: “Yep, she’s getting big!” Person: “Is she mild?” Me: “Oh, that’s just a saying, there’s really no mild/severe - a person either has Down syndrome or they don’t. There could be a dual diagnosis-“ Person interrupts... Person: “No, my nephew is 24/26 and his is severe. Strong as an ox, though, but you can tell just by looking at him that there’s not a lot going on.” Me: “😳” Judging a book by its cover is the same as stereotyping someone’s intelligence because of their appearance. My daughter wears her diagnosis on her face and it protects her from society’s expectations...but it also makes her have to prove her worth. I know I can’t change the world, but I can change Lynnyx’s world. ❤️🐞❤️ #lynnyxsladybugs
