The Kern Down Syndrome Network will be hosting its Inaugural Walk for a Million Dreams at the Pyles Boys Camp Group Picnic Area on Saturday, March 30, 2019 from 10am-2pm.
Kern Down Syndrome Network invites you to join us in supporting people with Down syndrome in Kern County. People with Down syndrome have dreams and aspirations, just like the rest of society, but often those dreams are under-valued. We invite you to collaborate with us to support individuals with Down syndrome in our community; we are walking to raise awareness, raise funding, and raise our expectations by appreciating the value added to our community when we are all included.

We will have a contest celebrating the following Walk for a Million Dreams teams:
1. Biggest team (most members)
2. Top fundraising team
3. Best costumes
4. Best team T-shirt design
5. Best team space design
At the event on March 30, 2019, we will walk together, then we will enjoy carnival-style activities, bounce houses, raffles, vendors, and community energy. Our goal is to raise awareness that people with Down syndrome in Kern County are part of our community, and regardless of perceived ability, we all have a place, and being included matters.
