Gabriel's Gallopers
We are proud to participate in our 20th annual Bay Area BuddyWalk for SVDSN. Since Gabe came into our lives, the Silicon Valley Down Syndrome Network has been an incredible source of support for our entire family. SVDSN is a grass-roots volunteer organization that is dedicated to providing programming that supports the entire family. Each of us has benefitted through the programs that SVDSN supports.
Gabe and Marcy are currently very involved with the SVDSN Taiko program, which provides a space for self-advocates with Down syndrome, their siblings, and community volunteers to come together in a welcoming space. Participants find new forms of self-expression through the tradition of North American taiko drumming. This year, we are grateful to raise awareness through participation in local community events like the Mountain View and Palo Alto Obon festivals.
Our fundraising efforts will support local programs like SVDSN Taiko, as well as National Down Syndrome Society advocacy and public awareness initiatives that benefit all individuals with Down syndrome.
